Clouds

Another long ski. Did a loop of the parkway and Ridge road. The trails were pretty busy today but that's a good thing. The NCC was hosting skifest which brought out the crowds. Lots of people out enjoying the Park. The trails were well groomed and for the most part I didn't see any rocks poking through so my ski bases were appreciative.

Speaking of bases, I used some of the (mildly) expensive glide wax on the skis today (low flouro Vauhti green on top of a CH green base for glide - Teho green binder with a Swix green top wax for grip) . Does it ever work a treat - money well spent. The skis were extra slippery today (with grip when I needed it). I could see how the expensive (high flouro) waxes might become addictive if they improve glide a further step over this low flouro stuff.

Towards the end of the day I had a a good view of the incoming front. Hopefully it will bring some more snow with it. Got home in time to see the Bears UNLEASH THE FURY on the Saints... Hopefully they'll do it again playing the Colts in two(?) weeks.

Bears?? Seems a shame to play a conference championship on a slippery patch of mud. I guess they earned the home game though by beating up on the titans of the nfc central division.

Great conditions in the gats. Skied into Herridge today from P16, sweet!

I concur with Tony Dungee's post game comments. The Superbowl should be played in Ft. Wayne, Ind. Mud, snow, bone chilling temps... now that's football.

Seems we were both in the GAT skiing on Monday. My ski with grizz was a little (ok a lot) more relaxed but nonetheless enjoyable. Loved the empty parking lot, the crowd-less trails, and the vacant chalet.
